Didar specialises in photographing Asian weddings and they can be a whole world away from the traditional white, Christian wedding that we are used to seeing here in the UK. 'The days are long on an Asian wedding, you can start very early in the morning and be shooting for up to 18 hours.' However, Didar is also quick to stress that this doesn't mean Asian weddings are a relaxed affair; 'As well as it being a long day, the timings are tight. You really have to know how to work quickly and effectively. An average wedding has around 500 guests, but it could be over 1,000 so you also have to be able to capture everything going on around you.' Since they sound absolutely exhausting, I asked Didar why he enjoys Asian weddings so much that he made them the focus of his business. 'The excitement in the morning, the atmosphere in the main ceremony, the electric buzz from the reception and the emotion when the bride officially leaves her house and family - everything is brilliant!' However, it's not just the excitement of the day that Didar loves so much, it's the work he does afterwards too: 'I also love to design and create albums; this is when it all comes together for me.'
At the Societies' Convention 2015 Didar will be giving a Masterclass on creating signature fine art images for clients. He will be discussing everything from capturing the images and post-production right through to choosing types of paper for printing and maximising print quality. 'It's important to be able to educate clients so that they will work with you to create signature images. With the client on your side you can create beautiful images with strong emotions.' After listening to him talk about his inspirations and creative processes Didar hopes that delegates will leave his class feeling inspired to create their own fine art images that will add a new dimension to their work.
