This well-known lighting brand has recently introduced a new line of 'RFi' soft-boxes which have a deeper shape that directs the light forward rather than spreading it to the sides, the recessed front said to minimise stray light. It's not just about light, however, but rather the quality of that light, so a highly reflective silver interior provides a higher output and a crisper result. The recessed front can also be used for mounting an optional softgrid for even more precise light shaping.
The RFi soft-boxes are available in 12 sizes spread across four models: rectangular, square, octagonal and strip. Profoto claims these are compatible with 26 different brands of flash, including Speedlights, and thanks to colour-coded rings and Velcro fastenings, don't require any tools to assemble or disassemble. Its manufacturer adds that every single unit is hand sewn, and features heat-resistant quality fabrics that live up to the brand's trouble-free, long-lasting image
For those pros wanting a heavy-duty battery solution for location work there is Profoto's new Pro-B4 1000 Air battery generator, first introduced at Photokina and described as 'the fastest and toughest' on the market.
