He appeared impressed with my portfolio and we seemed to hit it off, but Richard said he had meetings set up with several other photographers, and would be in touch one way or another in a week or two.
Well a week turned into three and I got a phone call saying that the shoot was mine if I was still interested.
In the couple of weeks before the shoot, two of the models dropped out for different reasons. With two days to spare and sight unseen, as it were, a model called Emily Wyatt stepped in to save the day.
Saturday afternoon, our large estate car loaded to the gills with my gear, dresses, lingerie and accessories, plus Richard, me and two of our models, Emily and Cassie Anne Jackson, pulled off the P&O ferry in Calais heading for the A26 and St Omer. We called in at a hypermarket in St Omer to pick up some food and wine before arriving at the quiet little village of Quitesse. After unpacking the car, and a tour round the house to pick our bedrooms, we had a game of pool in the large games room and something to eat. The weather forecast for Sunday was good so Cassie and Emily tried on a selection of dresses and put them aside for the next day's shoot.
There are 21 days to get ready for The Society of Photographers Convention and Trade Show at The Novotel London West, Hammersmith ...
