Click Ed School of Photography
Described as a 'revolutionary' new school for photography, this brainwave of The Click Group - a name that will be very familiar to members of The Societies - offers to help photographers stay ahead in a fast-changing industry.
"As this sector changes so rapidly, training and further education is often something that gets requested by Click Group members," says CEO Charlie Kaufman. The snappy-sounding 'Click Ed' was therefore launched in May 2012, and seeks to offer a huge variety of innovative and specialist courses.
One- and two-day workshops are hosted at the Click Group's flagship studio, the 'Fresh Academy'. This state-of-the-art studio boasts 28 sets and backdrops and has a hair salon, make-up suite and even cinema viewing facility. Delegates are invited to use the studio during training for practical work.
Typical course headings include: Lighting Masterclass, Sex up Your Style, The Art of Nudes, Discover Your Style, Newborn Art, Make Over plus Sales Training. "The curriculum is exciting in its diversity and will constantly evolve according to the needs of the industry," adds Charlie. One-day courses for April, May and June this year are currently priced between £149+VAT (for 'Keeping it Fresh' on 10 June) to £245+VAT (for 'Newborn Art' on 28 May and 8 July), though some courses can start as low as £99.
More will shortly be added to the list and the desire is to keep prices reasonable. An easy-pay booking service means delegates can reserve space with just a £50 deposit; full payment required two weeks prior to the course date. Downloadable booking forms are also available online.
As well as Kaufman himself, course 'educators' read like a roll-call of famous industry names, and include: John Denton, Sarah Wilkes, Stuart Wood and James Carter - who adds: "if you want to earn, you need to learn."
