Pet and family photography has so much more to it than people imagine. It requires considerable groundwork and detail. I have finally discovered who I am by following my heart.

I've had my share of knockbacks. But I always question what I've learned from each one and get myself back on track as soon as possible. I've continually struggled with confidence and finding my identity, but by surrounding myself with positive people and accepting their help, I am finally beginning to feel comfortable with who I am. If I ever doubt myself, I know that once I pick up my camera, I'm a different person. Photography can be stressful on the day as almost anything can happen; pets and families have minds of their own! I ask myself, what’s the worst that can happen? Then I tell myself, I can only do and be my best – that’s all anyone can ever do.

I have many dreams for the future of my business and am excited where the next chapter of my life will take me. But it’s not really a new chapter. It’s a new book. The Karen Bennett book.
